Software can assign a gender to a mail file.
Cathy Jones becomes Ms. Cathy Jones
Cautions -
Genderization is at the mercy of the program creator.
Kim can be mail or female but may be asigned Ms.
Pat would probaly not have a gender assigned
Most foerign / ethnic / Unique spelling names go unassigned

Genderization is a nice tool that solves about 70% to 90% of a problem.

For best resuldt a database shouold be set-up with a formal and informal salutation fields
such as Cathy and Ms. Jones
